Frontier(s) (Limited Release)
Date: May 9th, 2008
What: A band of criminals find refuge in a secluded country inn, fully unaware of the nightmare that will greet them this evening.
Huh: Sounds like "From Dusk Til Dawn" But without Clooney, Robert Rodriguez or Tarantino. So, who knows. It is French.

The Happening
Date: June 13th, 2008
What: A family is on the run after natural disaster threatens the entire planet.
Huh: Its M. Night Shyamalan. Personally, I think his films have been getting progressively worse since The Sixth Sense. Also, the trailer tells us nothing about the movie. So it may be horror, or it may be a whole bunch of people talking in pretentious dialog while nothing happens a la The Village. Who knows.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
Date: August 1, 2008
What: In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick (Fraser) and Alex O'Connell (Ford) unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin (Li) -- a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard (Yeoh) centuries ago.
Huh: This maybe, in the most remote context, could qualify as horror. Its a slow summer for wide release horror. This is the third movie in the Mummy Franchise if you don't count the Scorpion King. Rachel Weisz clearly thinks she is too good for this franchise now after her Oscar win. And she's right.

The Midnight Meat Train
Date: August 1, 2008
What: A photographer (Cooper) hunts down a serial killer (Jones) who preys upon travelers in the subways of New York City.
Huh: Clive Barker, the man behind Candyman, Hellraiser and Hallraiser 2, brings us the first real horror flick getting a wide release. Vinnie Jones as a serial killer on the subway. Bad ass.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2
Date: August 8, 2008
What: The Pants are back and taking their revenge on the girls who so carelessly discarded them so many years before.
Huh: I am really scared of this movie.

Saw V
Date: October 24, 2008
What: The fifth film regarding the exploits of the Jigsaw Killer. Probably. I mean he died like six movies ago.
Huh: I'm willing to bet, this movie may contain people in sadistic torture devices in order to make themselves come to grips with truths regarding how big of assholes they are or how their lives are not being led up to the standards set by said Jigsaw killer.
