ESR presents: EMERALD CITIES

While best known as the author of the book "Feature Filmmaking at Used Car Prices", Rick Schmidt has been making interesting, innovative low-budget films for the past thirty years. The Eclectic Screening Room is pleased to present this original and very funny fable, "Emerald Cities", released in 1983.

In this fascinating, multi-leveled narrative, a young woman flees her Death Valley home to seek her fortune; her drunken dad follows, and soon comes in contact with the "new dark ages" of 1984.

"On the street interviews", punk performances by FLIPPER and THE MUTANTS, Tv-shows of past-life hypnotism and nuclear destruction, and a crazed ex-con all intermix with the characters own sagas.

As always, in the true spirit of these screenings, people are always encouraged to hang out and chat afterwards. ESR is more than a screening, it's a community.
